As per our initial discussions we operate a electrical safety compliance service and maintain a small laboratory and had issues with the voltage delivered by the local supply. As with many country areas the voltage fluctuation can be a difficult and often an expensive issue to over come when tight tolerances are required.
Our experimental testing of the PS10 has shown that it delivers a stable supply within the stated parameters. The PS10 has solved our issues with voltage fluctuations and provides a very stable power source for our test equipment. We use the 3% scale as we have to adhere to close voltage tolerances for the Australian Standards testing requirements.

New South WalesI'd like to share with you how your product, the Thor PS10 – Smart Power Station with accompanying 8 outlet Smart Board has solved a long running problem with my Home Theatre / Hi-Fi Audio set up and at the same time provided me with outstandingly improved Video and Audio quality.
To say I’m ecstatic about the Thor PS10, is an understatement.
Approximately 3 months ago, I started updating my AV Receiver and DVD Player in order to take full advantage of a new 1080P Plasma Screen I’d purchased.
The AV Receiver I’d had at that time was 5 years old and had become a real ‘limiting factor’ in my set up.
I started my ‘equipment upgrading’ exercise by purchasing a new ‘high end’ AV Receiver.
As soon as it was installed in my system, I noticed hearing intermittent but ongoing ‘electrical clicks’ and ‘sound dropouts’ whilst playing DVD’s. They were quite prominent and quickly become very annoying.
Then I remembered something I’d taken an interest in a few years earlier; The Thor PS10 – Smart Power Station.
Try it we did and …. instantly, all my problems were solved!
Not only has the Thor solved my long running problems, but I’ve also noticed big improvements in both Video and Audio quality. They are as follows:
Video: The video quality is now noticeably brighter and more colourful. And that’s noticeable on all picture sources; Live Television and DVD’s.
Audio: This is where I’ve noticed the biggest difference. Audio Dialogue on DVD’s and Vocals on CD’s and LP’s are now absolutely ‘crystal clear.’ I know it was not that way previously.
And the areas in DVD’s and CD’s where there are ‘quiet’ audio passages are now ‘super quiet.’ There is absolutely no background noise at all in these sections.
I can’t really say what ‘filled these quiet passages’ before this, but whatever it was it’s now gone and I’m enjoying ‘super quiet’ quiet passages on DVD’s and CD’s.
It really is wonderful.
George, I can’t tell you fully how really pleased I am with my Thor PS-10. It is without doubt one of the best additions I’ve ever made to my Home Theatre and Hi-Fi Audio set up.It has made an incredibly outstanding difference.

New South WalesAs a recent owner of the THOR PS10 I had to write to you and tell you how impressed I was with the construction and performance of the unit.
I have been a hifi enthusist for over 25 years and have played around with many power regulators and filters for my high end equipment over the years and I can honestly say that the Thor is the first unit I have used which not only solved a mains problem that was frustrating me for a while, but it also markedly improved the quality of the sound I was getting across all frequencies including deeper and better defined bass. It is also one of the best value products of it's type on the market.
I also found the service I received from yourself to be first class with prompt responses to all my queries. Subject: Feedback re Smart Power Station PS10
After living with the PS10 for a week thought I would give you some feedback. As to improvements in sound reproduction there seem to be changes right across the board particularly in the microdetails. Soundstaging is a lot more precise with all sorts of background sounds being able to be heard. For some reason my Conrad Johnson CA200 control amp seems to be "louder" and its performance at lower volume levels seems much enhanced. The build quality of the PS 10 is very good and having the A12 power board as well really sorts out a few installation concerns I had. The three separated "banks" of power points is a great idea. I'm using my McCormack UDP1 Universal player on Bank 1 which seems to be ideal. Is the PS 10 worth the money? Compare its price with the $30,000 worth of Hi Fi gear it provides power to and there is no question of it being worth every cent. For high quality power 24/7 in a Hi Fi situation the PS 10 is a must.

I have just installed a foxtel IQ box in my Gym TV. Unfortunately, for some mysterious reason, when I used the running machine, the TV picture and sound flicker and were distorted so much as to become unwatchable. Probably something to do with the electric motor in the machine and the electric field that it generates. A Thor representative came out and installed a small, two outlet filter and the problem was completely resolved - Perfect picture again. The little box also protects me from power spikes as well as electrical interference. I certainly recommend Thor products to anyone with similar problems.

On Friday I installed an A12 Smart Board, due to a history of equipment damage (power supplies mostly) to my hi-fi and connected TV system over the year. It may or may not have something to do with a sub-station just 15 feet away beyond the lounge room wall where my gear sits. From the moment I plugged in the A12 I finally achieved the hi-fi quality I have dreamed of. I guess it's cleaned the power supply of noise and conditioned it -- whatever, it is a result that finally makes my system worth the money I have spent on it over the years. I am very happy.
I always thought power conditioning was beyond my reach but it seems that's not the case.

After spending a fair amount of money on my home theatre and computer equipment, it made sense to talk to someone in the know as to what type of power protection I should use. Your recommendation to use a PS10 power station on the home theatre an A12 on the main computer have been beneficial.
Before buying the PS10, I had no idea just how bad the power was coming into the house, not to mention how many times it fluctuates, dips or spikes just while watching TV.

I recently purchased one of your Thor Surge Shield Premium Series “A1” Active Tracking Line Filters and after connecting it to my system I felt obliged to contact you.
As the proprietor of a Home Theatre Audio and visual calibration service I make my living by re calibrating and adjusting factory pre settings on Hi Fi and Home Theatre equipment using sophisticated test procedures based on international standards that improves performance for discerning clients.
Calibration is about optimising adjustments to enhance performance of a client’s personal choice of equipment in their own unique Home Theatre environment.
The improvements on most occasions are spectacular. And whilst I have understood the need for clean power for some time it was just not available, I can now proudly offer this quality product to my clients.
I have installed the THOR TECHNOLOGY “A2” into my own system as my main AC filter, I was attracted initially by the Dynamic Active Tracking filters and the feature of three separate individual filters on the one power board and the massive surge and protection levels. The isolation feature allows me to separate various components from each other eliminating electrical cross talk. As a result I have noticed a significant improvement in both the audio and visual performance of my system.
My system uses a variety of high end products from different manufactures, and prior to installation of my THOR A2, I was able to hear a low level hum from my speakers when not playing program material. I was also able to see a “ripple” through the projected video display that could only be caused by power interference from I suspect other automatic household appliances.
After I installed my THOR A2 and re-calibrated my audio and video system, I noticed the difference that would have to be experienced to be believed.
Based on my personal experience I believe the THOR TECHNOLOGY A2 Dynamic Active Tracking Filter and calibration should be a planned part of any system you have or are considering.

I recently purchased a Thor Premium Power Filter, to protect my valuable Home Theatre equipment which includes a Rear Projection TV, audiophile Power Amplifier, A/V Amplifier, DVD/SACD player, Phono Turntable, VCR, Subwoofer and associated loudspeakers.
Apart from the peace of mind i had from the 8 way board the 6 year free replacement warranty was not something i thought i would really need to use. However , after a storm went through my area i could detect a burnt odour and found the Thor Power Filter was the culprit. The power board had obviously been severely damaged by a power surge and had thankfully done its job sacrificing itself to save my equipment. To the best of my knowledge my equipment is functioning as if nothing has happened.
I rang the store where i purchased the unit from and they told me to bring it in and it would be replaced for a new board. There were no questions on proof of purchase or receipts it was as easy as bringing in the damaged unit and a replacement was supplied on the spot.
I then rang the manufacturer to let him know about my situation and informed them how happy I was. I have already and would now recommend their product even more highly.

On the 21/10/03 we experienced a thunderstorm. At approx 5:30 PM, my children and myself were in the dinning room when the lightening struck. There was a terrifically loud bang and a bright blue lightening bolt shot out of our Computer. The computer was saved, but the surge board was struck. Luckily the surge board saved our $3,000.00 computer system.
I highly recommend the Surge board to anyone who has a computer system. After experiencing an incident like I have, there is no way I would ever be without one.

Last Monday evening, February 21 2011 marked as one of the most severe thunderstorms I've seen in Brisbane.
I had returned home from work to find an Energex crew repairing a nearby street light. Power was out in the street. It was clear that lightening has struck nearby.
The following morning I discovered that my NAS (fileserver) was not working - it had suffered surge damage. The unit contains ~ 4GB of data. Video, music, our family pictures and movies. All of the data was scrambled during the surge. Thankfully, all of my other computer equipment, my modem, my Sony stereo, computer monitors, etc were all plugged into my Thor Smart Board. Unlike my NAS, they are all in perfect working order.
So thanks for making such a great product guys - I own 2 now.

I would like to say that I am still scratching my head at the service I have received from Thor Technologies. This power board must have been 3 years old and through no fault of its own, I cooked it with a power spike.
I was about to throw it in the bin when I noticed Thor offered a 6 year warranty and I have to admit the first thing I thought was yeah right!!!!
So I decided to check out your web site and after reading a few of the testimonials I thought to myself what have I got to lose. I might as well give this a go.
All it took was one e-mail to your warranties department, one phone call direct from yourself and the next morning I had a new replacement power board no questions asked or long lost receipts required!
I've been in the computer game for 13 years and this service is nothing short of amazing.
I'd like to see anyone get that sort of service the next time their LCD monitor or motherboard dies.

On 15/02/2006 at approx.10.00 am we had a Power Pole hit by a thunder storm causing a huge power surge through our supply.
At the time, plugged into the Surge Shield were the following:-
1. LG DVD Player Model DV 8621 P 2. Mitsubishi Video Cassette Recorder HS - MXI (A) 3. M - 32" LCD Samsung TV 4. Digital Set Top Box High DEF Samsung
All equipment and board were damaged and out.
We contacted the dealer supplier Hills Appliances and informed them of same.
They contacted the Surge Shield "Thor" Sales Manager Mr. George Forster-Jones immediately.
Mr. Foster-Jones in turn phoned us and within a few hours he visited us with a new Surge Board to assess the damage and check the equipment.
Promptly he arranged for the equipment to be assessed by a local repairer who came up within hours and checked also.
He returned the next day to pick-up the equipment after getting authority from Mr. Forster-Jones for repair.
We thought, we would be in for a long haul.
To our absolute delight we received all the repaired equipment back in three working days, which also included a Micro Wave oven.
The Service we received from George Forster-Jones of the "Thor" Surge Shield was unbelievably efficient and we obviously are immensely impressed.

This is just an email to say thank you to everyone at the company. The support I received from your staff was nothing short of stunning. I have never dealt with a company before that so completely amazed me with the level of attention and support that was offered to me. I am quite proud to recommend your product to everyone I know and I have been telling my story to friends and colleagues and I’m sure they will be purchasing your products if they are considering buying something similar.
When I emailed the warranty address to make an enquiry about my unit, from dealings with other companies I didn’t expect to get a reply for at least several days, I was completely stunned when I was personally called no more than 15 minutes after sending my email.

Andrew Harries - claiming connected equipment warranty
Kalamunda — Western AustraliaI have been involved in the retail industry for four years with Retravision. It is not often I am motivated enough to put pen to paper after being impressed by a suppliers level of after sales service and customer care.
On Wednesday 15 February we received a call from a very distressed customer. It appeared that some of their home theatre equipment had been damaged by a power problem of some sort. To be honest I thought “here we go”. Generally claiming for this sort of thing takes a fair amount of time and the customer ends up quite irate.
I called Michael Kerle from Thor Technologies, an Australian manufacturer of power protection products, to find out what the next step would be. Michael informed me that the customer needed to email Thor (all details of who to email and how to claim are on the warranty details form inside the box) describing the problem, and again I thought “here we go”.
The customer emailed Thor outlining the issues and was amazed to get a call from George Forster-Jones the National Sales Manager within half an hour of the email being sent. George was then out at the customers house in no more than two hours.
The extent of the damage was quickly assessed and local trusted repair agent was organized to make sure of the cause of the damage and what was involved to get the equipment back up and running.
The next day all of the damaged equipment was picked up by the repairer and was returned to the customer in three working days. Thor Technologies had paid for all of the costs.
The customer was over the moon and extremely grateful. This level of service is also a reflection on us as a retailer and we definitely want to be aligned with suppliers who stand by their promise and products

I'm writing to let you know how pleased I am with my Thor Technologies power board(s) and the service I have recently received. When we lost internet and A/V service recently we noticed one of the power boards in our rack was "off". Further inspection noted that what had really happened was the Thor Power board had cut power, as I understand it is designed to do, to protect the A/V equipment. It's great to see the product doing what we put it there for in the first place - for 3 years now. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how quickly Thor got back to me following notification that the board had shut down and the ease at which you offered a new replacement board. No hassles! Your product warranty is incredible. How many companies send you a new product after the one you bought has done it's job!? I would definitely recommend Thor products and of course plan to remain a Thor customer.

Narrogin — Western AustraliaA storm went through Narrogin in January 2012 and Patricia had a computer, fax and digital phone attached to Thor's Smart Filter D1/45B. All connected devices through the main power were protected from the storm....
"Spoke to George twice on the 9/1/12 and he advised me to email re power board damage from power surge through phone line during a lightening/thunder storm. The power board model is D1/45 smart filter 7 outlet which has been replaced through Knightline Computers Narrogin WA. In checking phone connections, have found phone connected at time of power surge no longer has a dial tone when plugged directly into phone line not through power board.
PS: Am impressed with the power board and its guarantee – our fax was also connected, which is then connected to our computer and the only thing damaged was the phone. Your prompt reply/service and constant communication was wonderful.
